Wuhan's metro lines form a crisscrossing network of 12 lines. Line 2, the first underground line to cross the Yangtze River, significantly reduces travel time between the two banks, boasting considerable daily passenger volume. Line 11, a key city-wide express line, connects important transportation hubs such as Wuchang Railway Station, Wuhan East Railway Station, and Gedian South Station, strengthening the links between Wuchang's central urban area, East Lake High-tech Development Zone, and Ezhou Gedian Economic Development Zone.

Its high transportation efficiency is evident. This year, the daily passenger volume has been approximately 4 million rides, with a record high of 5,975,400 rides. It accounts for 68% of the city's public transportation, making it the preferred choice for citizens. Metro construction has not only alleviated ground traffic pressure but also driven commercial development along its routes. Wuhan Metro is actively promoting TOD projects, with numerous commercial complexes such as Xuji棚 M758 and Fozulǐng Youlin Tiandi opening successively, injecting vitality into the "15-minute convenient life circle" and forming a prosperous commercial consumption belt. Wuhan Metro continues to contribute to the city's transportation and economic development, constantly writing new chapters in the city's progress.
